High Block and low block are key skills found in Taekwondo Poomsae and Karate Kata, however, little is known of their true interpretation and Application (Kor: Hae Sul, Jap: Bunkai).
This instructional piece was filmed during one of my classes on Poomsae. It contains Hae Sul/Bunkai of High Block and Low Block based on research and historic referencing. Though the film quality is marginal, I believe the information contained therein is worth viewing.

Knife Hand Guarding Block
Knife Hand Guarding Block is a skill which originated with Okinawan Te (Kempo) and is common to most Karate and Taekwondo Ryus. It appears in numerous Kata and Poomsae However, it is one of the most misunderstood and misapplied skill. To call it a block is a misnomer. While the video clip is of marginal quality, I believe that the content is worth viewing. Feedback is appreciated.
Arm Bar/Elbow Immobilization
Arm Bar/Elbow Immobilization is a skill common to just about every martial art expression that I know off. In Yu Shin Hapkido, attention is focused on proper timing of interception, push-pull principle, breaking balance, and penetrating versus spinning. This skill’s relationship to the sword and “upward extension (Dan Jun Ho Hup Bup)” is referenced. While this video clip is of marginal quality, I believe that it is worth viewing.

Major Leg Reaping Throw is a key skill in every martial art discipline. There are numerous variations and approaches to this skill. The pinning skill of Side Collar Hold is also a key skill in ground management which can be a finishing strategy in a wide variety of situation. Again, while the film quality is mediocre, the instructional quality is at worth viewing. Thank you and feedback is welcome.
